Low Thermal Conductivity

The low thermal conductivity (Wikipedia) of insulating bricks makes them an excellent thermal insulation material. Thermal conductivity indicates a material’s ability to conduct heat and low thermal conductivity means that insulation bricks can effectively isolate heat conduction. Therefore, this property reduces heat loss and increases the energy efficiency of the building, thereby reducing reliance on heating and cooling systems.

High Refractoriness

Insulation bricks have excellent fire resistance and can withstand thermal radiation and flames in high temperature environments. So, this makes insulating fire bricks ideal for use in high-temperature equipment and industrial furnaces. That is to say, their high fire resistance helps protect equipment and buildings from fire, ensuring the safety of production processes and personnel.

Corrosion Resistance

Kerui insulating firebrick price for sale usually has good corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of corrosive media such as chemicals, acids and alkalis. This makes insulation bricks widely used in equipment and processes in the chemical industry, metallurgy and other corrosive environments. What’s more, their corrosion resistance helps increase equipment life and reliability.

High Insulation

The insulating refractories have excellent insulation properties and can effectively prevent the conduction of heat and current. This makes insulating bricks ideal for insulation in electrical equipment, high-temperature pipes and furnaces. Furthermore, their high insulation properties help reduce energy losses and safety risks to electrical systems.

low Heat Capacity

Insulating fire bricks have a low thermal capacity, which is the amount of heat required per unit mass of material. In other words, this means that the insulation bricks can quickly absorb and release heat, improving the thermal response speed of the system. This is important for applications that require rapid temperature regulation, such as industrial furnaces and heating equipment. Moreover, insulating bricks are often used together with the best refractory cement.

Low Shrinkage

The low shrinkage of insulating fire brick means that it has less ability to deform and shrink in high temperature environments. therefore, this allows the insulation bricks to maintain a stable shape and size in high temperature applications. Besides, this is important to ensure the accuracy and long-term stability of industrial equipment.

Low Bulk Density

High quality insulating firebricks generally have a low bulk density, which means they are relatively lightweight. This makes the construction and installation process of insulation bricks more convenient. So this reduces the load on the equipment itself and reduces the complexity of construction. In addition, low volumetric density helps reduce material costs and transportation costs.

Typical Uses of Insulating Fire Brick

Furnace Lining

Insulation refractory bricks can effectively isolate high-temperature environments and provide good thermal protection. In addition, they can withstand corrosion and impact caused by chemicals and metallurgical processes. At the same time, the lightweight characteristics of insulation bricks make the construction of furnace lining more convenient.

Furnace Door and Hearth Mouth

The insulation fire brick applies to the furnace doors and furnace mouths. Like fire clay block, it can effectively prevent heat loss and thermal radiation from the external environment. It can withstand the high temperatures and corrosive environment around the furnace mouth. In addition, insulating brick provides a stable furnace door structure.

Flues and Chimneys

The low thermal conductivity of insulating bricks can reduce heat loss in flues and chimneys and improve energy efficiency. At the same time, insulating refractory fire bricks can withstand the high temperatures and flue gas corrosion generated in flues and chimneys. That is to say, this ensures the structural stability of the flue and chimney.

Pipes and Pipe Elbows

Kerui Insulating bricks offer unique advantages in pipe and pipe elbow insulation applications. They can effectively reduce heat conduction and loss in pipelines and can withstand chemical media and high-pressure environments. Besides, the lightweight characteristics of insulating fire brick make pipeline installation more convenient and economical.

Furnace and Reactor Walls

Insulating fire brick provides good thermal protection in furnace wall and reactor wall applications. Therefore, it can withstand corrosion and impact caused by metallurgical processes. Meanwhile, the plasticity and cutability of insulating brick allow them to be adapted to the construction of furnaces and reactor walls of different shapes and sizes.

Heat Shields and Insulation

This great insulating refractory fire brick exhibits excellent thermal insulation properties in applications such as heat shields and insulation layers. It prevents heat from being conducted outward. At the same time, the corrosion resistance of insulating fire brick enables them to withstand corrosion and vibration from the external environment.

Raw Material

the first insulating refractory bricks manufacturing process is to prepare the required ingredients. Common insulating fire brick recipe include kaolin, expanded perlite, expanded vermiculite, etc. We pre-process these raw materials through processes such as crushing, screening and mixing. This ensures uniformity and stability of the raw material.

Stirring

Stir the pretreated raw materials and additives. This step ensures that the raw materials and additives are fully mixed and evenly formed to form a mixture.

Grout Molding and Demoulding

Inject the mixture into the insulating fire brick mold and use a press to vibrate and compact it. This step is to fill the cavity of the mold with the mixture. After a certain period of curing, the insulating brick body is formed. Then, we disassemble the mold to de-mold the thermal insulation brick body.

Drying

Dry the demoulded insulation brick body to remove moisture. Drying is performed using drying equipment. This can control the temperature and humidity to ensure that the green body is fully dry.

Sintering

The dried insulating brick body needs to be sintered to make it have fire resistance and thermal insulation properties. The insulating brick body is placed in a tunnel kiln and heated for a certain period to cause it to sinter and crystallize at high temperatures. Moreover, during the sintering process, the control of temperature and time is very critical. This ensures the quality and performance of the insulation bricks.

Polishing

After the sintering is completed, the surface of the insulation bricks needs to polish. What’s more, we mechanically polish the insulation bricks to make their surfaces flat and smooth.

Testing

We conduct quality inspections on the polished insulating fire bricks. This includes inspections of dimensions, appearance quality and performance to ensure the insulation bricks meet requirements.

Packing

We package qualified insulation bricks. In addition, we usually use appropriate packaging materials for protection for storage, transportation and use.

The Difference Between Insulating Fire Brick and Refractory Brick

Raw Materials

The insulating fire brick recipe of Insulating fire brick are lightweight materials, such as expanded perlite, expanded vermiculite, etc. These materials have lower density and thermal conductivity to provide good insulation properties.

Refractory brick is mainly made of high temperature resistant materials, such as high alumina materials, siliceous materials, etc. These materials have high melting points and high temperature resistance. Therefore, it can withstand chemical and thermal effects in high temperature environments.

In addition, the content of the same component in insulating bricks and refractory bricks is also very different. For example, the aluminum content of high alumina refractory bricks is as high as 80%, while the aluminum content of high alumina insulation bricks is only about 48%.

Application

Thermal insulation of equipment usually uses Insulation bricks to reduce heat conduction and energy loss. The insulation layer of furnace doors and furnace walls widely use them.

Refractory structures and high temperature environments mainly use refractory bricks. They are resistant to corrosion and chemical reactions from high-temperature molten substances. Therefore, it is used in furnaces, furnace walls, chimneys, high-temperature equipment and other occasions.

Performance

The insulating fire bricks have a low thermal conductivity and can effectively reduce heat conduction. They prevent heat loss and provide good thermal insulation properties. Therefore, we can keep the temperature of the equipment stable and reduce energy consumption.

These refractory bricks have excellent fire resistance and can withstand chemical and thermal effects in high temperature environments. They have high melting points and corrosion resistance and maintain structural stability and integrity at high temperatures.
